Everyone has a Knowledge of God
Whether or not you grew up with Christian family members, everyone has a knowledge of God. You may have met people that exhibit a strong faith. You may have attended church at some point in your life. Sometimes something extraordinary has happened to you or someone you know—and maybe you would classify it as a miracle. If you really look, you will see that God is everywhere. (Romans 16:26)
WHY IS KNOWING GOD SO IMPORTANT?
1/ He is always with you, whether you are aware or not, and He has the power to transform your life and your eternal destiny. (Matthew 28:20)
2/ Your eternal destiny depends upon what you believed in this life. (John 14:10-11)
3/ God will reject those who reject Him. Each person must reconcile this truth before the day that they die. Once you are reconciled to God, you can be assured of going to Heaven. (Matthew 10:33)
HOW DO WE PROCESS THIS TRUTH ABOUT OUR EXISTENCE AND BECOME RECONCILED TO GOD?
1/ Embrace Jesus as the Savior of Humanity. The truth of this world is that the King of the Universe is God. The world is not the result of any “big bang” or a random existence. God purposefully created everything you see in the sky, on land, and in the sea. He specifically wove you in your mother’s womb. He strategically made a plan for your life. He has preordained everything and all circumstances for His purposes. He loves you and wants to know you. Embrace Jesus as your Savior, and do it today, for tomorrow is not promised.
2/ Understand the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus was not just a prophet. He was the actual Son of God, who was sent here to save humanity—even today we need a Savior! We sin on a daily basis, often knowingly and sometimes unintentionally. God already knew this about His creation. But He gives us an “escape plan” through the death and resurrection of Jesus. When we embrace Jesus as the Messiah and the Savior of the world, we escape the very certain death of our souls! And then joyfully, we enter Heaven on the day that we die.
3/ There is freedom, once you are saved by Jesus. You will learn the true meaning of life. You will understand God and His intentions for your life. You will see that evil exists in the world and why God allows it. You will also understand suffering and how God uses everything together to achieve His plan for the salvation of the world.
4/ Rejecting this truth of your existence only delays what you need to do before you die. Consider that the reason you are even reading this text is that somehow God communicated to you and is now pursuing you. Not only God, but your loved ones want to see you one day in Heaven with them. When you choose to live by your own standards and not God’s standards you will run into problems. God’s plan is to hold you close, to save your soul, and to bring you home to Heaven. But a response is needed from you.
