Do it Today
To all readers at this website – Make Your Decision Today
It’s time for your decision to become a believer or to raise the bar on your current Christian activities if you are already a believer. Making a decision to follow Jesus and the word of God will change your feelings, your relationships, and the joy and peace you experience for the rest of your life.
There are only 2 destinations when you die—Heaven or Hell. It’s your choice. The actions you take before you die will save you if you choose to follow Jesus Christ. If you are having a hard time believing in the unseen, make an honest attempt to believe. Go to church, listen to the messages, and follow the instruction given in those messages. Look at the evidence presented in the Christian Bible, and look at the evil currently going on around the world. Talk to other Christians. Make up your mind today. Develop faith in the unseen and proven Savior of the world. You are promised an eternal inheritance and it is really, really important to your life and the lives of your loved ones that you decide to be a believer. Don’t waste your life! Your existence is important to God. He is calling you to make this life-changing decision. Luke 15:10 tells us the angels in Heaven rejoice each time one new Christian is born into salvation!
A warning about Hell
Luke 16:19-31 tells us of someone who went to Hades (and subsequently) Hell. After realizing he was stuck there, he wanted to warn his living relatives about it. The Bible references both Hades and Hell. Hades is the place unbelievers go before going to Hell. The Bible describes both locations as places of physical pain and suffering for all of eternity. The reality is that the ultimate destination, Hell, is a place of indescribable loneliness. Many believe that if they wind up in Hell, they will just party with their friends who are also there. The truth is that hell has no light; it is dark and lonely and no one is together there. Hell is also a place of no return. Once you are there, you will never get out.
Jesus, while here on earth, would weep over unbelievers because He knew where they would end up. Please consider this truth! Turn from your sin, ask God for His forgiveness, and invite Jesus to become your Lord and Savior.
Choose Jesus
Choose Jesus of your free will - Jesus wants you to use your mind to enter into a relationship with Him. Your emotion and free will can allow you to give Him complete and total surrender of your life. God is in the driver’s seat, so serve Him sincerely and in faithfulness.
Choose Jesus over indecision – don’t sit on the fence or take time to think about it. Over-thinking it will delay your decision. Ask yourself “what is keeping me from choosing Jesus?
Choose Jesus because He has been so good to you – this is a happy choice! God loves all His people and He loves YOU. Let the goodness of God be the thing that draws you to Him. Always remember this.
Choose Jesus, or you will choose another god – everyone chooses to serve something or someone. Choosing comfort and happiness, or choosing to believe each person has their own truth will likely cause (or continue) your skepticism about Jesus.
Choose Jesus even if you are not the type of person who would normally choose Jesus – Joshua 24 tells us the Jewish people struggled with idolatry and they were not naturally disposed to the God of Israel. There is not a Christian “type”. There is only sin! Is your story strange? God can handle it! The only “type” is a person who needs forgiveness. And all of us need God’s forgiveness.
Choose Jesus or there will be consequences – don’t mistake God’s patience with God’s wrath. There will come a day when He expects a decision, and that day needs to occur before you die. God’s goodness is no assurance of His future goodness toward people who ignore what they need to do. It’s ok to make this decision based solely on your fear of going to hell. Once you make the decision, you’ll see later, as you learn more about scripture, that it was the RIGHT thing to do.
Choose Jesus regardless of what others choose – Joshua stood up and told his people that they can choose whatever they want, but as for him and his family, they were choosing to serve the Lord. Do it even if no one goes with you, but don’t do it because others are doing it—it’s YOUR free will and YOUR choice.
Choose Jesus today – it will give you more time to serve Him and help spread the good news of the gospel. Most importantly, it will give you more time to hear God’s word for your own life, and it will bring unsurpassed wisdom, clarity, peace, and joy for the rest of your days.l
Do it Today - A Final Thought
Whatever your current Christian denomination is, in order to be saved, there needs to be a definitive moment in your life when you ask for God’s forgiveness and welcome Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. Say this prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me. I know I am a sinner and I am truly sorry for my sin. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins because of your love for all people, including me. I believe that Jesus took the punishment from You that I deserve. I will go forward in my life trusting in what Jesus did for me on the cross, and not my own good works, to save me. Thank you for your grace and forgiveness. Please help me spend my time serving you for my remaining days.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
If you prayed the above prayer and meant every word of it, you are now saved and will be welcomed into Heaven when you die. Go forward, live by God’s word and when He welcomes you into Heaven on the day that you die, He will say to you “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Note: Even if you have a strong faith and feel you don’t need to say the above prayer, do it anyway. Making these statements directly to God tells Him you plan to allow Him to lead your life and that you trust Him to lead you wherever He wants you to go. It’s important to do this, and it only takes 30 seconds to take this action for your well-being, your peace, and your eternal salvation. Please do it. Remember that God’s wisdom is superior to the wisdom of man. Humble yourself and accept Jesus into your life. It will be the most important decision you will ever make for yourself.
