God’s Wake-Up Call for Humanity

The bigger picture of the world illustrates that the world is at war, and there is an unseen drama unfolding as we wait for the return of Jesus Christ.  When God threw Satan out of Heaven, Satan rebelled by defying God and he now exists in the world to attack and try to gain a foothold over God.  In the end there will be THE war of wars.

God is here, waiting for you to come to Him.  In the meantime, Satan is desperately trying to gather as many unbelievers as possible to create his own Kingdom; one that will never be.

God wins this war in the end, and all people will be placed in their eternal homes in either Heaven or Hell.  And the wake-up call is this:  Make your decision now, because once you die it will be too late.  God wants you now, whether or not the return of Jesus will happen in your lifetime.  It’s time to wake up, sit up, listen, and take note of some important points.

Time to wake up:  Judgment is Coming

When Jesus first came into the world, He came as our Savior.  When He returns, He will come as our Judge. There is still time to embrace Him as our Savior before His return.  No one knows the hour or day of His return, so the time is now to wake up!

Time to wake up:  You desperately need a Savior

The world is critically ill and it tries to dethrone God.  While we wait for the return of Jesus, we must focus on Him as our Savior.

It’s been very evident throughout history that we need a Savior.  Because of natural human rebellion, God sent His Son Jesus into this broken and evil world to rescue humanity.  He loves and cares for each and every one of us!

Without a Savior, we will be forever separated from God. An eternity separated from God is something you don’t even want to think about or experience.   Today is the day of salvation!

A Change of Mind that Leads to a Change in Direction

As Christians we personally accept Jesus as our Savior!  This requires a change of mind that leads to a change in direction for how we live our lives.  And then we are called:

1/ To be people of HOPE – In faith, we have hope that God sees our struggles and we believe in His promises.

2/To be people of INSIGHT – In keeping up with world news, we understand the times with knowledge of what we should do.  When there is a political shift that affects us morally, spiritually, and politically, we need to know what God calls us to do.

3/ To be people of HUMILITY – God commands us to fix ourselves and do what His word says.  Vengeance and revenge does nothing but use up precious time.  When we obey God, we learn to love everyone, including our enemies.  Only then can God’s love overcome evil.  The door should always be open to reconciliation so we must love, not isolate ourselves from, our enemies.

4/ To be people of ACTION – As we study the bible, we essentially have one-on-one time with God through reading and prayer.  In doing so, we will understand when it is time to take action!  We must confront evil leaders and be the salt and light of the world, as God asks us to do.  When we share the gospel, we help delay the premature implosion of the world, to give others a chance to act, too.

5/ To be people of COURAGE – As you stand for God, be fearless.  Be alert, look at the world situation in the middle-east and in Israel (where the final events will take place), and see the importance of prophecy as it is written in the Book of Revelation.  People must understand the urgency to take action.  It will take courage on our part to wake them up to the reality of death and eternity.

A Sense of Urgency

Put God first.  He has revealed Himself to us and we know who He is!  We need to adjust our thinking in what we believe and know about God’s plan for our lives.

The time to be ready is NOW for you and everyone you love.  As mentioned above, no one knows the hour or the day when Jesus will return so we must be ready.  Today could be the day—help others realize their time is limited and that they WILL stand before God one day.  Demonstrate your faith and impress it upon others so that they may also seize the day for their own salvation.

Jesus Calls us to think of Others

In this life, we tend to worship things like money and pleasure, things that cause us to be self-centered rather than “others-centered.”  The Bible says many things about this subject, which is why we use the Bible for guidance on life.  The Bible is God-breathed, meaning it was written by people who knew Jesus and believed what He said.  It is as sharp as a two-edged sword.  When Jesus rose from the dead, the recordings of their eyewitness accounts were included in the biblical writings.  We believe Jesus is who He said He was—the Son of God.  And we believe He was (and always will be) our Savior.  So, in turn, we believe He is coming back—which means everyone needs to be prepared.

Once you are awake, wake others up

Christians are commanded to spend their time waking people up and letting them know they are at risk to Satan’s attacks without God.  We are mostly sleep-walking through life when we don’t pay attention to eternity.  Judgment is coming.  It will be fair and just because our God is fair and just.  God loves us but will judge unrighteous people.  The only safeguard is to renew your mind.  Think about what is at risk if you don’t embrace God’s gift.  It’s time to wake up from your slumber.

A Wake up Plan

How to ensure your spiritual life becomes inhospitable to temptation:  See to it that you gain God’s righteousness.  He wants you to be like Him.  He will show favor on you when you try!

There are plenty of good people in the world who don’t know God.  Good works that are tied to a spiritually dead life does not equal righteousness.  And when compared to the perfect standard of Jesus, not one of us is righteous.  God takes the righteousness of Jesus and transfers it to you when you become a Christian.  Only then do good works have value.  But it is not automatic.  You need to trust in Jesus and have faith in His promises.  When you trust in Him, do your part and agree to His instruction.

Make an attempt to fix your broken relationships.  Take time to talk to God.  Ask Him for help with your struggles.  Go to church.  Get involved with helping others.  Think about God each day and study His word.  Believe in His power and live your life in peace, knowing your eternal destiny is secure because you put your faith and trust in God alone!

Only by the grace of God can we gain His forgiveness so that when we die we can stand before Him not in our own righteousness but in His righteousness.
